Karl Lanier

It is almost midnight and I am trying to get my picture in under the midnight deadline. I read something written by Philip Moffitt today in Dancing with Life, that I believe could change my life. He recommends the practice of renouncing your attachment to being right.

The picture of the day is of a weaving by local artist Karl Lanier. He is an amazing weaver. His work is so colorful and intricate. Please enjoy this woven piece lit by candlelight.

  1. Amen to the renouncing of attachment to being right. I have been working on this for over two years, and for me the progress is baby-step-incremental. Maybe it's because I used to be a debater, maybe it's because I fear letting go of my ego means losing myself, maybe it's just a habit, maybe it doesn't matter why I do it. Getting to the stopping place has been a huge challenge, and I consider your post today a friendly reminder from the universe to keep working on it. And I agree it's a life changer.

  2. Thanks Pidge for the beautiful comment. I think about how many of my relationships and interactions would change if I could let go of defending "being right." Damn Ego! Compassion is the key, for myself and the person (dragon) I am fighting. Then I think about the Middle East, Iraq, George W. Bush. What if those people hadn't be so bent on being right? Where would we be now?

  3. Sorry to be a wet-rag, but I kinda want my pharmacist to have an attachment to being right.
